Join Local Historia and historian Jonathan Rowell on April 22nd for a walking tour of the historic Boalsburg village. Take a step back to the early 1800s and watch a small, farming community grow to a true American Village and stand at the spot where Memorial Day first began! Children 12 and under are free!
Cost: $10.00 per ticket (see payment details below)
Where: The tours will start and finish at the Diamond in the Boalsburg square at the intersection of W. Main and Church Street (See Map). Find our table near the public benches!
Tours/Times: Saturday 4/22/2023 (tours are approximately 60 to 75 minutes):
Payment Details: Purchase your tickets prior to the event to reserve your spot, all sales are final. Online payment can be made by traditional bank cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Our tickets can only be purchased from Local Historia (via the Local Historia Square links above). Do not accept offers of “tickets” from anyone else. Proof of email confirmation will gain entry to the event (there are no physical tickets).
Tour Route/Safety: The tours are outside and follow public sidewalks and streets. Some of the sidewalks may be uneven and always be alert for street traffic.
Weather: All efforts will be made to do the tour as scheduled. However, if there is a thunderstorm or it’s just too bad, you will be contacted at least one hour in advance to cancel or reschedule the tour. Look for an email or social media post if the weather is appearing to be an issue to stay informed. If you don’t hear anything within one hour of the tour, it’s on!
