Join Historian Jared Frederick on an hour-long walking tour through downtown Altoona as he shares stories from significant locations and veterans from America’s golden generation! This tour is a MUST SEE for anyone interested in the Second World War!

Where: The tours will start and finish at Laws Veterans Memorial Plaza in Downtown Altoona Veterans Mall (See Map).
Children: These historical tours are intended for general/adult audiences and are not specifically designed for kids. That being said, kids are always welcome and are free under the age of 3.
Tour Route: The walking tours are outside and follow public sidewalks and streets. Some of the sidewalks may be uneven.
Weather: All efforts will be made to do the tour as scheduled (with umbrellas if necessary). However, if there is a thunderstorm or it’s just too bad, you will be contacted at least one hour in advance to cancel or reschedule the tour. Look for an email or social media post if the weather is appearing to be an issue to stay informed. If you don’t hear anything within one hour of the tour, it’s on!
