Local Historia is proud to partner with Historian Jared Frederick to offer Civil War walking tours in Altoona! On Saturday, June 21st, Jared will be leading two walking tours featuring Altoona’s deep connections to the Civil War. Tours are hosted by Levity Brewing Company!
Cost: $15.00 per ticket (see payment details below)
Where: Tours start and finish at Levity Brewing Company at 1411 11th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601. Socialize with us before or after the tours!!
Tours/Times: Saturday 6/21/2025 (tours are approximately 75 minutes):
Payment Details: Purchase your tickets prior to the event to reserve your spot, all sales are final. Online payment can be made by traditional bank cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Our tickets can only be purchased from Local Historia (via the Local Historia Square link above). Do not accept offers of “tickets” from anyone else. Name and email confirmation will gain entry to the event (there are no physical tickets).
Tour Route/Safety: The tours are outside and follow public sidewalks and streets. Some of the sidewalks may be uneven. Always be alert for street traffic. Lanterns and flashlights are welcome.
Weather: All efforts will be made to do the tour as scheduled (with umbrellas if necessary). However, if there is a thunderstorm or it’s just too bad, you will be contacted at least one hour in advance to cancel or reschedule the tour. Look for an email or social media post if the weather is appearing to be an issue to stay informed. If you don’t hear anything within one hour of the tour, it’s on!
